The Mathematics section rewards speed as much as accuracy. A handful of mental shortcuts, practised until automatic, add up to real time saved.

Squares near a round number

To square a number close to 100, use the difference from 100 rather than long multiplication — it's faster and less error-prone under time pressure.

Chain percentages by multiplying the fractions directly instead of calculating each step's absolute value first.
